About Me

Hi, I'm Nathan Tang. I'm a software engineer at AWS who builds things that are either genuinely useful or interestingly pointless — sometimes both. I care about precision, good design, and committing to ideas fully, whether that's scaling infrastructure to handle millions of requests or building a horoscope system that uses NASA ephemeris data to tell you it's a moderately auspicious day.

Outside of work, I spend most of my time with friends — making dumplings, playing table tennis, working through Letterboxd's top 300, hosting board game nights and D&D sessions. I'm working toward transitioning to more creative work like game development, photography, and building weird little websites.

I'm drawn to projects that require technical rigor but don't take themselves too seriously. If something can be over-engineered in an entertaining way, I'm probably interested. Check out my blog or GitHub to see what I'm working on lately.
